The travel industry is large and confusing. I know everyone has questions about what they need, do, have and hear at the airports and in the airlines. Well I am going to give you an insight into a part of the industry you don't get to see very often. As a contract employee I get the pleasure of working for multiple airlines, sometimes working for even non airlines that provide a service to major airlines. I currently am lead agent running a contract for http://www.jeppesen.com/ the leading company for flight manuals, tools and training. What I do for them is deliver Flight Kits to UsAirways 757 and 737 aircraft. These kits have in them aeronautical sky charts, FOM's (Flight Operations Manual), terminal chart etc. The service I help Jeppesen provide helps pilots in a great way helping them so they do not have to carry that 25+ Lbs bag around with them anymore, keeps them up-to-date cause we change them out fresh every month and saves them time. So that is a look at what small parts play in other parts of the industry.
Now because of this contract the first part of the month is the longest for me cause I work my other contract Airtran Airways at the same time. For instance these last 2 days I worked straight through non stop 18+ hours a day. I ran bags then help at Airtran then back to bags then Airtran etc etc. Today is the first day I have had a chance to sleep in and relax. I am thankful for my job but next month is supposed to be worse cause I am going to be picking up the Airbus' for UsAirways also. So my boss plans on letting me not have to work Airtran and Jeppesen, instead only work Jeppesen.
Today is turning out to be good, I slept in, I have been able to accomplish some things on the internet and its just feeling like a good day. I work but only tonight at 1930.
After talking to a friend about this certain product I thought I would come on here and tell everyone about it kind of bring up awareness about it. The product I am talking about is the Eye-Fi Explore Card. This card is amazing, it offers its users the ability to instantly upload their pictures and videos from their cameras when the get in to a wi-fi area. The added advantage to it is "GeoTagging" this feature far outways any feature this card can do in my opinion. This option gives you the ability to take a picture and have it tag where the picture was taken, this feature comes in handy for those of us that travel a lot and take lots of pictures, get home look through the pictures and forget where half of them were taken. It also can come in handy for family sharing, imagine going on a family road trip starting in Phoenix ending in New York, as you are driving you take pictures and upload them to your Flickr account or what have you, but you dont have time to put detailed info on the picture. Well now at least when your family looks at the picture they will be able to follow you and see ohh this picture was taken in ABQ New Mexico...DFW Texas etc. Now this card can run you a bit more than normal. This card you can find for around $80-$99 for 4gb of space. Now 4gb may not sound like much but remember it will automatically upload your pictures to your picture website of your choice, allowing you to erase the pictures once that is done.
At the bottom of this post I am going to give you some sites on reviews and prices and info of the Eye-fi card.
